We’ve had a lot of great work going on in this past year!! Chameleon Charm’s Kickstarter was a success! If you want to pick up a copy of the book and you missed the Kickstarter you can still get a copy of your own at Indy Planet!
Miss West and Valorous Tales have entered their next chapters! Not to mention Chameleon Charm has completed their third, a big congratulations to author, Fil Romero!! With the completion of this chapter Fil is taking a short hiatus to work on finishing her Chameleon Charm related animated short that she had started as her senior thesis. If you want to keep up to date with her progress you can check it out here on the Chameleon Charm tumblr.
A lot of hard work, sweat, tears, and hand cramps have gone into these chapters, so we hope you take the time to read your favorite or read them all!!
We are excited to announce a asset of our humble site: The Library!! The Library serves to be a place where you can find an indexing of even more comics by our talented staff and beyond. Bringing all headliner comics of the past and present together as well as entirely new content an even samples of paid content available only in one place. In tandem with The Library’s release we would like to introduce two new comics for your viewing pleasure: “Bravuto“by Donald Kirby and “C O S M O S“ by Andrew Stewart.
Keep a look out here, on our main site or on any greater social media sites where Cup of Comics news can be found, to keep up to date with the new comics that are being added to the Library!
Back in May we had a Comic Spotlight! Each week one of our Artists would upload their current favorite Fan Art pieces for their comics. Then they would Create a cool icon of their own characters as a cup! Yes just like our angry mascot Cupperton, which if you’re not familiar with him just yet you will be fairly soon. After they posted their Fan Art and special icons they would then at the end of the week post an artists interview on why they became an artist. We plan to continue this trend with our two future webcomics coming soon. We mentioned them briefly before but they are finally coming to light this Summer!
Week 1: Alphonso Orozco | Comic: iWish
iWish is about the life of a young girl named Stephanie and according to her, life was perfect. That all changed when Jinn, a young, bubbly and energetic genie popped out of her cellphone, ready to grant Stephanie her greatest wish. Unfortunately for the two of them, Jinn seems more like a roadblock in Stephanie’s perfect world. Can Stephanie learn to coexist with Jinn and live a normal life without any magical genie hijinks getting in her way?
Week 2: Dashawn Mahone | Comic: Valorous Tales
Valorous Tales, or VTales for short, is a story about the lengths a group of heroes would go to remove powerful curses that ruined their lives.
Week 3: Fil Romero | Comic: Chameleon Charm
Follow Veronica’s journey to retrieve her brother and bring him home, with the help of Ferdinand, a traveling merchant from the past who’s spirit was sealed within the body of a chameleon statue. He’s awakened thanks to an accident involving Veronica’s older brother, Sigel, which also releases the spirit of an old-time war hero who possesses the young man. However, the hero is not as heroic as the story passed down the generations have said and it becomes a quest to not only save Veronica’s older brother, but to keep the ambitious solider from carrying out his plans for conquest and destruction.
Week 4: Donald Kirby | Comic: Miss West
Miss West is the story of a girl who is about to enter the world of the twenty-something aged adult, and at that age, she must face the problems that one must face in everyday life. These Problems are life’s annoyances and difficulties that we have all come to deal with, ranging from broken appliances to stubbing her toe to dealing with daily jerk-faces on the street. However, this girl’s problems have manifested into monsters called the ‘Problemites’. Miss West must use every bit of strength and mind power within her body to get past these problems and obtain the status of becoming a productive member of society.
